As Headteacher at Larks Hill, it is with great pleasure that I welcome you to our website.
Larks Hill is a one form entry school that sits at the heart of the local community and is attended by families over generations.
Our school ethos is based on the notion of mutual respect. The pupils at Larks Hill demonstrate a strong respect for learning, for each other and for all members of the school community and beyond. All staff demonstrate their respect for the children by delivering high quality lessons and offering new and exciting experiences, treating all as individuals in a calm and nurturing environment.
Our ethos of mutual respect is underpinned by our school values of resilience, independence and collaboration, and all stakeholders uphold our values whole heartedly. I have high ambitions and expectations for all the children in my care and this is visible as you walk around our school. Pupils learning, their behaviour and personal presentation is of the highest quality and standards.
In 2023, I was extremely proud of our outstanding attainment and progress outcomes. In Year One, 100% of our pupils passed their Phonics Screening Check and in Year 6, as a result of our attainment outcomes in Reading, Writing and Maths, we are placed in the top 1% of schools in the country for attainment and in the top 5% for progress. This is a significant achievement, and I was delighted to receive two letters from Damian Hinds, Minister for Schools, in recognition for this.
I hope that you enjoy our website and that it gives you a sense and flavour of our school, it’s worth and aspirations. Once again, thank you all for your support. There is no greater public duty than preparing our pupils, academically and personally, to cope with life in modern Britain and beyond. All visitors to our school will be warmly welcomed.
Best wishes,
Mrs K Adams
